Bad day for Osinbajo in Kano as Residents Welcome VP with Anti-Change Placards

Admin April 10, 2016

osinbajo in kanoKano residents cried out on Saturday about the economic hardship they are suffering before visiting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, saying commercial activities in the state are being crippled

The residents carried different placards with various inscriptions calling the attention of the Federal Government to their plight and asking it to come to the aid of the masses over the situation.

Some of the placards read: “We are suffering, come to our aid”, while other placards urged the Federal government to intervene in the fuel problem facing the country.

“This is not the change we voted,” they told the government.

The residents who came out in thousands were also forced to drop their placards by the security operatives.

Kano streets were deserted by the motorists over non-availability of petrol in the city and its environs.

Addressing hundreds of Sabon-Gari marketers, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said the Federal Government would assist the victims of the market fire disaster.

Professor Osinbajo said the Federal Government would help in every way to support the affected traders to rebuild their shops with a view to resuming their businesses.

“We will make sure that we provide and support you with what we have to ensure that people do not suffer.

The Vice President said: “I am here to bring greetings from President Muhammadu Buhari and to tell you that he is with you and standing with you even at this trying moment.”

He said even though there was a lot to be done to rebuild the market, the Federal Government would support the state government to make the market a modern one.

The vice president, who commiserated with the traders, prayed God to prevent future occurrence and replenish their losses. (THISDAY)
