Bad deal: Ozil earns £9,000 per minute of action for Arsenal

Mesut Ozil learns far much than he plays

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has already earned an incredible £9.1m since the first game of the season. This works out to Ozil earning £9,000 per minute of action for Arsenal this season – costing cash-strapped Gunners £9.1m for just 14 games.

The Sun of UK reports that the Gunners playmaker pulled out of last weekend’s win over Huddersfield with fans sick and tired of his attitude

Ozil is set to be sold this summer as patience has run out at the Emirates, but he can sleep easy knowing his bank balance is bulging.

The former Germany international has played 14 matches in the Prem this season, starting 13 of those.

Despite earning an incredible £350,000-a-week, Ozil has played just 1,056 minutes out of a possible 2,340.

Since the first game of the season – a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester City – Ozil has raked in a staggering £9.1million.

That means, he has racked up £650,000 per game – or £700,000-a-start and £8,617 per minute.

The revelation comes on the back of reports Arsenal tried to offload Ozil in January – only for clubs to baulk at his wages.

The German midfielder was offered to Juventus, but the Italian champions, as well as Inter Milan, were stunned by his demands.

Now it would appear no-one wants the former Real Madrid star

Ozil missed Arsenal’s clash with Huddersfield due to illness, which is the seventh time he has been ill since the start of 2017.

The 30-year-old trained with his Gunners team-mates on Friday, with the club uploading footage to YouTube – as fans claimed he’s “finished”.

In the clip, the Gunners players play a small-sided game where Ozil goes in for a challenge on Alex Iwobi.

But the German’s challenge is easily brushed aside by the Nigeria international, with supporters finally done with him.
