At Last, Tambuwal Joins APC

Admin October 28, 2014

aminu-waziri-tambuwal1The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, has formally decamped to the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday.

This is coming after several months of speculations and suspicions over his alleged romance with the opposition. Tambuwal had made several secret and open meetings with APC members. He has been a vocal voice in the defence of actions of the opposition party.

It is not clear yet what the reaction of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party will be and if he will still retain his position as the Speaker of the House and his seat as a member of the Federal House of Representatives.

However it was gathered that his defection may not necessarily affect his position as speaker and his seat as a member of the House because Nigeria’s constitution only requires the speaker to be a member of the lower chamber and not from the party that has majority of members in parliament.
