Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has vowed to ensure the prosecution of 56 year-old Pastor Emeka Mkama, who allegedly defiled a four-year-old girl in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area.

Mkama, a pastor at Jesus Build the Church Mission, Obosi, has been detained since January.

Mrs Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living Initiative, received official reports from the Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, and the Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area, Chief Stanley Nwoka.

According to the reports, the incident occurred on December 24, 2024, but was only reported when the child’s health worsened after being treated with herbal medicine.

Soludo had directed the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo, to take up the case and ensure that all legal mechanisms were explored to bring the alleged perpetrator to justice.

Soludo also emphasised the need to break the culture of silence surrounding domestic and sexual violence, stressing that speaking up was crucial in the fight against these crimes.(NAN)
