The Chairman of Air Peace Limited, Barr. Allen Onyema, has called on the management of Federal  Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to approve the Asaba Airport  to accommodate Boeing 777.

Speaking at the funeral Mass for his father, Chief Michael Onyema at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church,  Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State on Friday, Barr. Onyema stated that the Governor of Delta State,  Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has transformed the Asaba Airport. Stressing that the approval of Boeing 777 to land at the airport will not be out of place.

According to the Air Peace Boss, “Asaba Airport can land a triple 7 and FAAN should quickly give approval for triple 7 to land in Asaba Airport and see what Air Peace will do.”

“The Governor, Distinguished Senator Okowa has done very well in Asaba airport and I will talk with my management to domicile Air Peace in Asaba,” Barr. Onyema said and thanked Governor Okowa for attending the funeral Mass of his father.

He also used the occasion to call on Nigerians to show love to one another, observing that criminals could hide under any guise to commit crime.

Bishop Mathew Kukah had in a sermon, observed that “things are so difficult in this country and I am supremely optimistic about this country because, nations are not built by human beings, they are built by God.”

“As we continue in this turbulent country, we must know that God is in charge of the affairs of Nigeria and we should avoid the celebration of nepotism,” the Bishop said, noting that the Air Peace Boss who was burying his father was a generous, and detribalised Nigerian.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, his Edo State counterpart, Mr Godwin Obaseki, former Governor Peter Obi, top operators in the airline industry, among others attended the funeral Mass.
