Adeleke Adewolu takes over from NCC’s Sunday Dare

Mr Adeleke Adewolu is to replace Mr Sunday Dare at the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.

This is coming as President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday named new heads of some Ministries Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

The new appointees will replace their predecessors, who were appointed as ministers by the President.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu.

“For Executive Commissioner (Stakeholder Management) Nigerian Communications Commission, President Buhari has forwarded Adeleke Moronfolu Adewolu’s name to the Senate for confirmation as a replacement for Sunday Akin Dare”.

Adewolu was special assistant to former senate president Ken Nnamani, on legal and legislative matters (2005-2007) and commissioner in Amosun’s cabinet.

The Federal Government also appointed Mr Kashifu Abdullahi as the new Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to replace Dr. Isa Pantami, the outgoing director general of the agency as a minister designate by the President.

Mrs Hadiza Umar, Head, Corporate Affairs and External Relations of NITDA confirmed the appointment to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Abdullahi until his appointment was a principal officer at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) who was on secondment to NITDA as a Technical Assistant to Pantami.

Born on Feb. 21, 1980, Abdullahi is a graduate from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi state and the fifth director general of NITDA.

He, in the past worked with the Galaxy Backbone Limited and has a number of professional certifications.

The appointments take effect, immediately.
