Vivid Vision Nigeria Ltd., an Abuja based company, says it has produced an energy generating tricycle that can also power home appliances.

Mr Michael Friday, the Founder of the organisation disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the tricycle has inbuilt battery that could recharge itself  and power home appliances like television, lighting points, refrigerators and standing fans for long hours.

According to him, the tricycle does not require maintenance except for brake pads and tyres.

“We have been able to proffer a lasting solution to energy generation and transportation.

“The tricycle is one of our products which we have been working on for more than 10 years. It is ready to hit the Nigerian and the global market.

“It is not a tricycle that can only move people from one place to another; it is a tricycle that generates its own energy.

“Which means that it does not depend on any external source of energy to be powered,’’ he said.

Friday said 95 per cent of the materials used in the production of the tricycle were locally sourced.

“When it comes to the molding of headlight and some little electronic components which we cannot manufacture locally, we source them from overseas,“ he added.

He however said funding was a major challenge to the mass production of the tricycle.

He called on the Federal Government and investors to collaborate with the company in the production of the tricycle.
