DBI receives award for Excellence in IT Capacity Development

The Digital Bridge Institute, DBI, has received the Excellence in IT Capacity Development award at the 2018, Nigeria Mobile and Economy Summit, NIMES, organised by the Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development, CECAD, Nigeria.

According to the organisers, the award was given to DBI in “recognition of their role in bridging the gap in the Nigerian economy, as the country makes progress within the knowledge ecosystem and based on DBIs excellent faculty that leverages the  modern facilities to offer cutting edge solutions to the training needs of organisations in core ICT, Management and ICT related area”.

It is also to recognise DBI’s market-focused capacity development and opportunity of learning about the business and social culture of the Nigerian and Africa’s volitile telecoms business environment as well as long outstanding testimonial  for training over 60,000 professionals which cut across diverse sectors (both private and public), President CECAD, Bayero Agabi said.

“The institute’s world class facilities and personnel, with understanding of the current trends in the Global and Nigerian ICT space and the capacity for building focuses on training that includes Analytics, Statistics & Data science, Coding & Programming, Cloud computing, Creative Design, Animation, Cyber security and the management of Internet of Things (IoT) networks are some of the areas that stands it out”.

DBI was launched in the wake of the worldwide growth of the telecom industry and it is especially committed to growing manpower and capacity in order to fill the void in human capacity in Nigeria and in Africa. The centre has been certified by the ITU as the centre for excellence in ICT capacity building and Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization (CTO) ICT sector member, GSMA Training Partner, Huawei Training Partner, CISCO Academy, Microsoft Academy, PEARSON VUE authorized Test Center and the Center for Management Development in Nigeria among others.

The award was received by Chinwe Alaribe, Head, Public Affairs for Logistics, DBI on behalf of the institute.

Prof. Umar Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) – Icon of Nigeria’s mobile economy

Mr. Tony Ojobo, Former Director, Public Affairs, NCC – Icon of African Information Society Merit Award (AISMA)

Dr Yele Okeremi, Managing Director, Precise Financial Systems- Software entrepreneur of the year

Mr Dipo Fatokun, Director Banking and Payment System, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) -Outstanding contributions to the Mobile Economy

Engr. Aliyu Aziz, Director General, NIMC- Champion of Digital Identity Management

Zenith Bank- Most innovative digital bank of the year

Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operator of Nigeria (ALTON) – Most impactful telecom association of the year

Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO)- Best research institute in the public sector

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) – Most innovative IT solution provider
