22-Year-Old UniPort Graduate, Pamela Peter-Vigboro Leesi, Emerges Miss Nigeria 2015

Admin November 9, 2015

Winner of Miss Nigeria 2015, Miss Pamela Peter-Vigboro LeesiTwenty-two year-old computer science graduate of University of Port Harcourt, Miss Pamela Peter-Vigboro Leesi, emerged winner of the Miss Nigeria 2015 beauty pageant in the early hours of Sunday in Lagos after a very keen contest.

Pamela, who represented Cross River state, emerged winner of the prestigious Miss Nigeria beauty pageant at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, after a tie for the first position with Kehinde Itunu, Adeyemi, representing Jigawa State.

The tie necessitated another round of question-and-answer of the two contenders by the judges at the end of which Pamela won the crown with seven votes, beating Itunu, who emerged the first runner-up with six votes. Asiana Mary, who represented Oyo State, emerged the second runner-up.

In its 39th edition this year, the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant was founded and first organized by the Daily Times in 1957. The winner of the maiden edition, Madam Grace Atinuke Oyelude, who was an employee of the United African Company (UAC) then and is now 82-year old, was also present at the event and was presented with a brand new Peugeot 601 saloon car by Heritage Bank.

Pamela, who was crowned Miss Nigeria 2015 by the out-going queen, Miss Ezinne Akudo, won the grand prize of N3 million cash, a brand new Kia Rio car, six months skill acquisition programme in any institution of choice, a year serviced apartment, and an all-expense paid trip abroad.

Notable personalities present at the event include Chief Segun Osoba, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi, Dr. Onukaba Adinoyi-Ojo, and Mr. Innocent Oparadike, all of whom were former Managing Directors of Daily Times; Senator Daisy Danjuma; and Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke, and several notable entertainment and society personalities.
