2023 Presidential Election: Tinubu awaits coronation; PDP, LP may head to Tribunal

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be formally declared as winner of the 2023 Presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Results of all the 36 states plus Abuja have come in and the top three contenders fared as follows:

Tinubu garnered most votes with 8,805,655 votes (36.63%), Atiku Abubakar of PDP polled 6,984,520 votes (29.06%), while Peter Obi of Labour party harvested 6,101,533 votes (25.38%).

But there were strong indications that both the PDP and Labour Party would challenge the results which they had alleged were largely falsified.

Pundits predict that the Supreme Court may determine the next Nigerian president, not INEC.
