Dear HE Peter Gregory Obi,

MY ORDEAL WITH THE CROSS-RIVER STATE GOVERNMENT DUE TO MY ROLE AS AN OBIDIENT IN THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS

A CALL FOR ATTENTION TO SAVE MY LIFE

My name is Joepaul Akat-Osowo Obi, from Boki LGA in Cross River State.
I reside in Calabar.
+2348037550140

*MY ROLES IN THE OBIDIENT MOVEMENT*

1. I served in the National campaign council of the Labour Party during the 2023 elections, as part of the committee for the compilation, verification, Training and Uploading of polling unit Agents in all the 36 States and the FCT Abuja.

2. I was the trainer of all the Labour Party Agents in 11 States in both the South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.

3. I was arrested and held hostage in Cross River State by the Nigerian Army for 12 hours on the 25th of February 2023 on the Presidential Election day, untill the intervention of Obidents in the diaspora, before I was released.

4. I was instrumental to the Labour Party winning of the presidential election in Cross River State.

5. I’m the reason CROSS-RIVER State became the first State to record a 100% upload of results into the IREV, immediately the presidential election server came up.

6. I was the major factor the Labour Party won the House of Reps sit for Calabar Municipality/Odukpani.

7. I’m also the one who personally trained the Labour Party Agents of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency for late Comr. Clarita Ogar, who was a key witness for the Labour Party’s presidential election petition.

However Sir, since after the elections, my matter has been in court, and I have faced tremendous predicaments as listed below and more.

1. I have been arrested severally and detained for trumped-up charges, and I have been standing trial since then at the federal high court Calabar till this moment.

2. I escaped assassination in Calabar thrice in 2024 by divine grace of God.

3. I’ve gotten my name removed severally from employments that I merited, all because I’m an Obident.

4. I’m a contractor, and it is the business I have been into since 2019, but I’m no longer given contracts as a result of this case.

5. I have spent over ₦35,743,375.57 since then on this case, and that has run me bankrupt.

6. The Attorney General of Cross River State took over prosecution of my case on the 8th of October, 2025, in the federal high court Calabar to make sure I am stripped of all worthiness.

7. I have had the police conduct a search in my house in my absence, planted cannabis in my house, and was charged for possession of illicit substance, which the police have refused to prosecute me for.

8. Now, they want to amend my charges in court today, the 16th of October 2025, I have no idea what they want to cook up.

8. All of these have led to my PHD programme being delayed as I’m currently owing two sessions’ school fees to the tune of #745,750.
Hence, I can’t conduct my defence.

9. I got thrown out of the radio station where I was working, and the platform that I used to campaign for HE Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections because I am an Obidient.

I hereby call on your attention to my predicament, having reached a point where I now feel overwhelmed and depression is settling in.

I need your intervention, Sir.

Sincerely,
Obi, Joepaul Akat-Osowo
