The Governor of Cross Rivers State, Senator Bassey Otu, has praised the management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for its “developmental role in advancing educational infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning in the country.”

The Governor stated this during the 2024 TETFUND Management Retreat in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

Governor Otu, represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, maintained that without TETFUND intervention impact, he wondered how the university education would have been, adding that “higher education in the country cannot be without TETFUND.”

He employed TETFUND to use the retreat to remain resolute in its commitment and dedication towards making higher education in the country one of the best in the continent.

He maintained that the state government remains committed to partnering the Fund to improve education in the state.

TETFUND’s Executive Secretary, Architect Sonny Echono, in his remarks said through collaboration with the Board and the Minister for Education, the Fund has been able to upscale and reform interventions to render them more responsive to the needs of students, scholars and other stakeholders in line with President Bola Tinubu’s expectations.
