Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Delta South Senatorial District have passed a vote of explicit confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his developmental strides in office.

The confidence vote was passed during an enlarged stakeholders meeting held at the Effurun residence of the immediate past Deputy Governor of the state, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, on Monday.

Motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Member Representing Isoko South Constituency II, Hon. Ferguson Onwo and seconded by member representing Warri South 1 Constituency, Hon. Augustine Uroye.

The motion was unanimously passed through a voice vote question put on by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor.

Speaking at the enlarged meeting, the District’s chairman, Chief Emman Amgbaduba greeted all that came for the meeting, while urging the LGA party Chairmen to carry everyone along and abide by the directives as passed from the senatorial district executives as he frowned at the absence of some leaders in the area who did not get the notification of the meeting from their LGA Chairmen.

“We are one united body and I want to urge us to work for the progress of our party, no one should be discriminated against but we should see ourselves as one.

“I assure you that no elections will be lost in the senatorial district as I am the chairman,” he added.

Chief Amgbaduba while commending the Governor for his developmental strides in the area and giving various appointments to people pleaded with the Governor for more slots as the district is known for supporting every administration diligently.

Some speakers from the various ethnic nationalities – Isoko, Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo who spoke on behalf of others include Chief Joe Arausi, Chief Roland Oritsejafor and Rt Hon Funkekeme Solomon and Hon. Matthew Opuoru noted that the party is united for the cause of PDP in Isoko land as it is the only active party in the area.

“We have succeeded in collapsing all other political parties structure into the PDP as we hope to have a one party structure.

“We are well united and committed to the party and called on the Governor to look into the riverine areas and establish more projects there.”

The State’s PDP Chairman Chief Solomon Arenyeka who is also from the district lauded the developmental strides of the Governor and urged members of the party to be united always adding that such meetings from time to time was important for discussions and decisions making to make the party wax stronger.
