The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has expressed his sympathy with the President and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, over the fire incident that gutted the church’s headquarters in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday morning.

In a statement by his media team on Sunday, Ighodalo was quoted saying that he was saddened by the destruction of the edifice but thankful to God that no life was lost.

“I feel deeply saddened by the fire incident that destroyed the headquarters of Christ Embassy Church earlier today. It was heart wrenching seeing the edifice go up in flames. Though the raging fire destroyed the structure, we however give thanks to God Almighty that no single life was lost.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the President and Founder of the Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the entire church membership, and the community affected by this tragic incident.
“I believe that the Almighty God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we think or ask, will enable the church to raise a better structure to serve as international headquarters and place of worship in no distant time,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, in his reaction to the fire incident, said it was an avenue to build a bigger and better structure in place of the one ravaged by fire.
