The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the September election in Edo State, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state on the successful completion of the fasting period in the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid el Fitr celebration.

In a statement on Tuesday evening, the gubernatorial hopeful said, “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate and rejoice with all the Muslim ummah in our dear state on the successful completion of fasting period in the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration. I also want to congratulate you for witnessing the 1st Day of the month of Shawwal. It is my fervent prayer that Almighty Allah will accept your worship as an act of Ibadah.

“Let me also use this opportunity to urge all of you to continue to demonstrate the good virtues inherent in the month of Ramadan, such as self-discipline, sacrifice, compassion, love, caring and sharing, moderation and peaceful disposition. Importantly, continue to pray for our state because with God all things are possible,” Ighodalo stated.
