Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Wednesday night, said the state was peaceful and investor-friendly.

Governor Oborevwori disclosed this while playing host to ace Nigerian musician, Davido and his delegation who were at the Governor’s lodge in Asaba on a courtesy visit ahead of his performance Wednesday night at the Events Centre.

He said that his administration is working hard to ensure peace and safety of investments across the state and expressed appreciation to Davido for his support over the years

Saying that his administration would continue to work to attract premium investment into Asaba and other parts of the state, he assured investors of the safety of their investments in any part of the state and pledged continued partnership with security agencies for the realisation of the M.O.R.E Agenda.

He said: “I am very happy receiving Davido this night and this shows that Delta State is peaceful as he is coming to perform this night.

“When I was campaigning, I promised that we are going to enhance peace and security and you can see a lot of developments going on in Asaba and other parts of the state.

“People are coming to invest in Asaba and other parts of the state and I want assure all our investors that Delta State is safe and they can come in here to do business at any time.

“Coming here to perfom this festive period is very remarkable even though this is not his first time of coming to Delta but as a Governor this is the first time he is coming to perform and it is a big honour to receive him and his entourage and we are happy.

“I commend the organisers for choosing Asaba at this particular time. I have promised Deltans that they should expect MORE things and you can see that a lot of youths are in my cabinet and we are excited that Davido is performing here tonight.

“During my swearing-in ceremony he was here for the praise night and he came again to see me in the office and I want to appreciate him for the love he has shown us in this state. You are welcome to Delta at any time to partner and perform for our people”.

Earlier, Davido said he came with his group on a courtesy visit to the Governor as a mark of respect and to appreciate the Governor for his good works in ensuring peace and security across the state.

He said Delta had always been a second home to him because of Governor Oborevwori and his friend, lawyer and manager, Bobo Ajudua who hails from Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

According to him; “we have performed here in Asaba and Warri since the beginning of my career but this is the first time am performing here with you as Governor so its going to be very different tonight.

“Delta is like a second home to me and we are here to give back to the people that has been supporting us in London, America and all over the world.

“We are very excited because the tickets are selling out and all the youths are excited that we are coming and they are ready for the show.

“I am also excited because come 2024 we have the Grammy award that is coming and this is the first time of my being nominated and by the grace of God we will get some awards and we will come and show you again.

“My friend, lawyer and manager, Bobo Ajudua is from Delta State and we are happy working together to give premium content to our fans all over the world”.
