President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Jigawa State, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, as the new Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Also appointed is Clifford Okwudiri Oparaodu as the secretary of the commission.

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said on Tuesday that the appointment is in exercise of the powers conferred on the President as established in Section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

The appointment, he stated, is “in furtherance of the Renewed Hope mandate to reform key institutions and invigorate Nigeria’s war on corruption.”

He said it is subject to the approval of the Nigerian Senate.
