A businessman, Hassan Abubakar on Tuesday denied divorcing his wife, Bashirat Abdulrazak in a Sharia court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna.
Abubakar told the court that he loved his wife and had no intention of divorcing her.
”We have a child together.  I got home from my business one day and discovered that she had moved all her belongings out of the house.
” We didn’t have any quarrel or misunderstanding”, he said.
Earlier, the complainant told the court that her husband had made one pronouncement of divorce to her.
She prayed the court to confirm the divorce.
“I also want him to take full responsibility of his child and pay the amount he can afford for the monthly feeding allowance”, she said.
The judge, Malam Rilwanu Kyaudai, asked the complainant to produce witnesses to confirm her allegations.
He adjourned the case  until Jan. 19 for the couple to explore means of reconciliation and for the complainant to present her witnesses in case the reconciliation fails. (NAN)
