The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday lashed out at two siblings who are misleading Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Wike disclosed this in his address during a Thanksgiving Service held in Abalama town, Asari-Toru Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State on Saturday during which he commended the Ijaw nation, describing them as “good people” who should not be associated with negativity.

The minister fingered the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tammy Danagogo, and other politicians, accusing them of misleading the state governor for their selfish interests.

He claimed that the SSG and his elder brother, a judge, – Justice Danagogo – conspired to obtain an ex parte order, which the governor reportedly used to present the budget to only four people.

“They will lead you to hell fire,” Wike warned Fubara, saying “I won’t stop the Assembly from carrying out their constitutional duties,” an obvious reference to the threat of the Assembly members to impeach the governor which some of them stressed is their constitutional duty to do when the governor ceases to serve public interest.

Wike reaffirmed his commitment to upholding constitutional processes in resolving the political logjam in the state.

Wike further condemned attempts to stir ethnic sentiments, particularly in the wake of recent court losses by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He reminded the audience of his past victories and vowed to continue defeating those who seek to challenge him.

He took a swipe at Fubara thus: “Our effort, our sweat, we cannot be pushed out. All of you suffered, and somebody will just come because they gave him power overnight to tell us to get out. Who told him he can tell us to get out? Will you accept the ‘get out’?” Wike asked the charged crowd.

He said he will continue to protect the interest of his allies and resist any attempts to destabilize his political structure in the state.

“I have defeated them before, and I’ll continue to defeat them,” he said.

The event was held under tight security.
