Why Deltans Should Vote Okowa, by Emu
A member of the Okowa Campaign Organisation, Dr. Kingsley Emu, has urged Deltans to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa “because he is the only one who has the capacity and experience to take Delta State to the promised land of development”.
Emu who was a commissioner in the government of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan said on Channels Television morning programme, Sunrise Daily, that Okowa offers Deltans the best option of good governance on account of his pedigree, integrity and people skill all of which he has manifested in his long years in both private and public service.
“Without prejudice to other contestants, Okowa is the only candidate that can successfully build on the legacy of the incumbent governor anchored on Delta Beyond Oil. We intend to do this by deepening agriculture in a manner that it will be attractive to the youths and any person who wishes to venture into agro business. Our development style will be bottom up through well-conceived job creation initiatives. We will also sustain and improve on the profile of Delta State as a centre for excellent healthcare delivery by the introduction of more advanced technology in the healthcare delivery value chain”, Emu said.
There are three main contenders in the April 11 governorship election in Delta State: Okowa of the PDP, Great Ogboru of Labour Party and Ortega Emerhor of the All Progressives Congress (APC). But of the three, says Emu, Okowa is the most experienced and the best primed to offer good governance in its real form.
“Okowa is not a candidate of Delta North, he is a candidate of the PDP well accepted among all the ethnic groups and senatorial districts of the state. He is not sectional and this is reflected in the manner he won the ticket at the primaries. He is the only candidate who is not banking on the votes of a section of the state but on votes across all the nooks and crannies of Delta.
“Our man has been part of the Delta story from its creation. He is a grassroots mobiliser who connects well with the people. All over Delta State, the people from all divides are rooting for him, this is why we are confident of victory”, Emu said.
It would be recalled that Okowa, had promised to use the best brains in the state to run an inclusive administration that will unite rather than divide Deltans.
Dr. Okowa who predicted that he will win the governorship election scorned political parties and individuals that are promoting ethnic divisions and bitterness.
The Senator representing Delta North made this known when he paid a condolence visit to Delta State Coordinator of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria ( TAN ), Prince Ned Nwoko in his country home, in Idumuje-Ugboko on the demise of his son.
Dr. Okowa who was accompanied by Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, equally used the opportunity to smoothen the frosty relations with Prince Nwoko caused by the outcome of the 2011 Senatorial election.
Okowa said Delta State has abundance in intellect and talent which he will harness as the governor to transform the social and economic landscape of the state.
According to Okowa “no single individual can claim to know it all and my duty is to identify these brains and talents to get the best for the people and the state”
