The whole truth about medical student who won 16 awards in Ghana Varsity
Nathaniel Nii Codjoe (not Kudu), has been trending. The medical doctor graduated from the School of Medical Sciences, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, in grand style.
However, contrary to claims mostly by Nigerians, that Codjoe is a Nigerian from Eggon-speaking area in Nasarawa state, investigations by Political Economist NG showed that Codjoe is a Ghanaian, not a Nigerian.
At 22, he picked 16 awards (out of 22) at the second session of the 55th Convocation Ceremony held for graduates from the College of Health and Allied Sciences.
He graduated from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana’s Central Region, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical and Surgery.
He was not always favoured to be a medical doctor. Achieving seven ‘A’s and a B2 in the 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), he was denied admission into the Medical college program at the University of Ghana, he recalls.
Codjoe was offered a place in the Bachelor of Pharmacy program which he studied for a year before moving to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to pursue his dream of studying medicine.
He won 16 awards such as” Best Student in Anatomy, Best Student in Medical Biochemistry, Best Graduating Student in Physiology, Best Student in Microbiology, Best Student in Community Medicine, and Best Student in Chemical Pathology.
Other categories include “Best Student in Pharmacology, Best Student in Clinical Studies, Best Graduating Male Student, Best Graduating Pre-Clinical Student, Best Student in MB ChB Final Part II, and Best Overall Performance.
He also received “Best Overall Male Medical Student, Best Student in Family Medicine, Molecular Medicine with Certificate, and Best Student in Ear, Nose and Throat Rotation”.
