Wenger Boy, Iwobi, sends Nigeria to World Cup
Nigeria are through to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, thanks to Arsenal magic feet, Alex Iwobi, who scored the only goal of a gritty match with Zambia minutes after he came on as substitute. Arsene Wenger man looked sharp and was a terror to a determined Zambian defence with his quick darts and off the ball movement.
It was a hard-fought win against the Chipolopolo at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Though they lost the match that put them out of contention for the World Cup, the Zambians gave a good account of themselves with amazing share of ball possession and attacking mindset which caused scare for the Eagles every moment of the game.
Alex Iwobi’s second half goal guaranteed Nigeria’s place at the 2018 World Cup, the Arsenal forward earning a 1-0 home win against Zambia on Saturday.
