University of Buckingham Seeks Capacity Building Partnership With DBI

The President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Prof.  Mohammed Ajiya received a delegation from the University of Buckingham London, during a courtesy and partnership visit on Monday,  21st March,  2022.

The delegation was led by the Vice Chancellor University of Buckingham,  Prof. James Tooley, his wife Mrs Cynthia Tooley and Mr. Emma Orji, President of Association for Formidable Educational Development (AFED)

Prof. Tooley stated that the purpose of the visit was to seek a partnership with the DBI in line with the DBI objectives in providing quality ICT trainings  and engagement in world-class research services.

Impressed by the quality of facilities during the tour of facilities, he noted that DBI, being a world-class training Institute with a reputation for impactful capacity building is a partner of choice on the conference and this informed the basis for seeking such partnership.

The President/CEO of DBI, Prof. Ajiya in his welcome remarks appreciated the delegation and stated that DBI is highly pleased to partner on knowledge sharing. He noted that such an lvy league as the University of Buckingham will give an excellent opportunity to researchers, inventors and industry leaders to contribute to ventilate ideas for the growth of the country especially with inventions in engineering abound.

He affirmed that DBI is a training Institute established by the Nigerian Communications Commission to enhance manpower capacity in ICT and telecommunications of both government and private organizations especially in the evolving areas of ICT, Telecoms and general skills and such partnership are pivotal towards ensuring development.

In his response, the leader of the delegation of University of Buckingham Prof James Tooley commended the leadership of the DBI for rendering valuable service to the nation through capacity building of the workforce. He stated that there is need to deepen partnership with the DBI that will lead to a robust technological collaboration.

In a related development, President/CEO, Prof Ajiya was invited by AFED as a guest in the programme tagged “The Out of School Children” the University of Buckingham UK, has been in collaboration with the organization for the past twenty years, in his remarks Prof. Ajiya thanked the convener of the programme for their laudable initiatives.
