Tragedy as 12 confirmed dead in another building collapse, many injured
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other security personnel are sweating to rescue persons trapped in a collapsed school building in Jos, Plateau state where 12 persons have already been confirmed dead.
Several others were injured in the collapse at the time of filing this report.
The building which houses Saints Academy, Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of the state, came down on students and their teachers on Friday morning. There was no reported earlier warning of any structural defect in the building and witnesses could not link the collapse to the weather either.
NEMA officials and officials of the school said the debris may have trapped more than 70 pupils.
There are still ongoing efforts to rescue those trapped in the ruins.
