Tambuwal commissions two projects in Rivers State, commends Governor Wike
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal on Friday commissioned the expanded and rehabilitated Okrika ATC Jetty and Pavilion constructed by the administration of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for safer water transportation in the area.
This is as Governor Wike declared that friendship is beyond politics, stressing that it is always good for serving governors to compare notes irrespective of political leaning.
The Sokoto State Governor also commissioned the Rumualogu – Alakahia road in Obio / Akpor Local Government Area built to ease traffic congestion in that section of the LGA.
Commissioning the two projects, Governor Tambuwal described Governor Wike as a man of the people committed to the development of his state. He commended the governor for completing the road and Jetty projects for the benefit of the people of the state
He said : “I see that Governor Wike is a man of the people who is committed to the development of the state. I commission this road to the glory of God and the benefit of the people “.
In his remarks, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike declared that the presence of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal indicates that this is the period of the execution of projects as politics have been relegated to the background.
“My friendship with Governor Tambuwal transcends party politics. When the time for politics comes, we will play politics. For now, PDP has won Rivers State ,” he said.
The governor stated that in the nearest future, he will also be in Sokoto State to commission projects executed by the Sokoto State Governor.
Speaking on behalf of Okrika Local Government Area, Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Edwin Jackbara commended Governor Wike for expanding the ATC Jetty and improving the safety features of the facility.
The ATC Jetty and Pavilion leads to Bonny , Degema, Asari-Toru. Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas and Bayelsa State.
