Stop the hatred already- Desmond Elliot cautions celebrities, social media influencers
The member representing Surulere Constituency 1 in the Lagos House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot has called on social media influencers, celebrities to stop the hatred on social media.
Elliot in a video currently circulating on social media of him in the house, said the Nigerian youth, social media and influencers are making the narratives that we see today and it needs to be addressed.
He condemned the fact that the Nigerian youth have resorted to curses and abuses as a way of expressing their grievances towards the leaders, especially on social media.
He noted that culture is gone and in the next 5 years “there’ll be no Nigeria if we don’t start now, when shall we change this narrative?
He added that the youths are not only those who went through the peaceful protest, but those who have looted, destroyed lives are also youths.
He however enjoined the youths to use the constitutional means (voting) to change the government when the time comes.
