Spectacle as defiant Senator Natasha arrives Senate with husband; couple shares a kiss

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan scored a double on Wednesday getting a court order restraining the Senate from probing her and having the privilege to present a formal petition under Order 40, accusing the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of sexual harassment and abuse of office.
She had formally requested permission to step forward and formally lay the petition before the chamber which was granted.
The Senate subsequently referred the petition to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, directing it to review the matter as soon as practicable.
Also on Wednesday, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan stole the show when she arrived at the Senate in the company of her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan.
In a brief but affectionate moment and in full glare of onlookers at the packed Senate, the Senator shared a kiss with her husband before proceeding into the chamber to take her seat.
She took her seat in her newly assigned position, but refused to stand upon the arrival of Akpabio for the commencement of plenary, a deviation from the customary show of respect for the presiding officer.
