Sodomy: Court remands man, 40, over alleged indecent sexual assault of 2 minors
An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday remanded a 40-year-old businessman, Ibrahim Mohammed, who was accused of indecent sexual assault (sodomy) of two brothers both of whom are minors. Mohammed, who resides at No. 5, Eshibaye St., G.R.A, Ikeja, Lagos, was charged with sexual assault.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, had told the court that the defendant sexually assaulted the two brothers aged 11 and 12 in his room.
John told the court that Mohammed committed the offence on Jan. 1, 2019.
Chief Magistrate P.E. Nwaka, who did not take the plea of Mohammed, ordered that he should be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Service facility in Lagos.
Nwaka ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send a copy to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice and adjourned the case until Feb. 17.
The offence, he said, contravened provisions of Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015 and stipulates life imprisonment for offenders. (NAN)
