Rivers safer than Lagos, Kogi, others for investors – Wike
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says the state was safer than Lagos, Kogi, Kaduna, Kano and Benue States where he said kidnappers and murderers ravage communities on a daily basis. The governor disclosed this Saturday night at an event to mark the 20th Anniversary of Air France flying into Port Harcourt International Airport,
Wike noted that Rivers was becoming safer because of the investments of his administration in the maintenance of security, law and order.
He noted that before he took office, the state was a beehive of crime and criminal activities, adding that he has been able to partner with law enforcement agencies in the state to chase the hoodlums away. According to him, it is easy to gauge the safety quotient of the state by the inflow of investments under his watch.
He assured that his government would work harder to build on investors’ confidence to do business in Rivers.
“Investors are coming to Rivers regularly and they are talking about insecurity. Look at what is happening in Lagos, Kogi, Kaduna, Benue and Kano States and you will realise that this state is the safest,” he declared.
He attributed the campaign to paint Rivers State as unsafe to the handiwork of opposition politicians whom he said do not mean well for his state.
