RCCG alters mode of worship, Lagos, Ogun members to use Dove TV, Cell centres
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has directed all parishes in Lagos and Ogun states to alter their mode of worship to fit the government’s directive on measures to stem the spread of coronavirus.
In a memo dated March 18 and signed by Pastor J.F Odesola, Assistant General Overseer (Admin and Personnel), the church directed all parishes with less than 50 members to continue with their former order of worship and services. It however directed those with 50 members and above to use House Fellowship centres where they are to tune to Dove TV, owned and managed by the church, to run simultaneous services with the main church.
“Parishes that have the facilities to run more than one service can also do so under the strict directive that worshippers won’t exceed 50 people per service.
“One supervising minister and an usher could be seconded to each centre for collation of necessary reports (attendance, new converts, new comers, etc).
“All centres are requested to connect to Dove television to join the live broadcast from the General Overseer during the period.”
The statement urged all members not to panic in the face of the coronavirus crisis “because God promised us victory over every battle at the beginning of the year.”
