Police disclose whereabouts of want-away Bobrisky
Controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, has been moved to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. A police source told Channels Television that “Bobrisky ” spent the night in a cell at the police facility.
The source added that he is in FCID for safekeeping following his arrest by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service while attempting to exit the country through the Seme border.
“He is here, for now, further directives were being awaited regarding his case,” the source said.
The source disclosed that “Bobrisky was brought to the FCID, Alagbon, around 10 p.m. on Monday. Immigration arrested him at Seme Border and brought him for safekeeping.”
Also confirming Okuneye’s detention, the spokesperson for the FCID, Annex Lagos, Aminat Mayegun told Channels on phone that” Yes, he is with us and we are to get a remand to keep him in custody today.”
A statement on Monday evening signed by the spokesperson for the Nigeria immigration service, Kenneth Udo, described Okuneye as a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.
“In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, Nigeria Immigration Service intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.
The statement further explained that “He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.”
