Parallel Facts’ engagement with the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on May 28, 2023, has been ranked eighth largest globally in 2023, according to a reputable tech website, Noobspace.
As of June 6, 2023 the Obidient Movement’s and Parallel Facts’ Twitter spaces are the eighth-largest Twitter spaces worldwide and the only African brand in the top 10. This ranking showcases the reach and impact of Nigeria’s digital media platforms on a global scale.
In its report titled: Top 10 Biggest Twitter Spaces in 2023, the website, in its ranking, noted that Twitter owner Elon Musk held the most significant space with Rondes Antic on the 25th of May, 2023, having 41 million live listeners, followed by Robin Wheeler’s Elon Musk Q&A on the 21st of November, 2022, with 2.7 million listeners.
Third on the log is a BBC interview with Elon Musk that attracted 2.6 million active listeners on April 21, 2023, while the fourth is Reclaiming Democracy with Elon Musk and Robert Kennedy Jr. on June 5, 2023, which attracted 2.2 million listeners.
Elon Musk’s Twitter Space on Twitter Files, which was held on the 4th of December, 2022, is the fifth, and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan LIVE, May 21st, 2023, with 713k listeners, is in the 6th position, while the same space was held on the 20th of April, 2023, generating 503k listeners.
And in eighth place is Parallel Facts’ spaces codenamed “Citizen Engagement with Peter Obi,” with 222 thousand listeners, a record that no Nigerian or African brand has ever set in the history of Twitter Spaces.
Recall, in a bid to shed light on his ongoing court case at the Presidential Election Court, where he is challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Parallel Facts invited Mr. Peter Obi to take part in the interactive session on Twitter spaces, which served as an opportunity to directly address questions raised by the audience, his supporters, and other well-meaning Nigerians, ranging from legal matters to his future plans for Nigeria.
As one of the most-followed legal disputes in Nigerian politics, the court case challenging the election results has been a subject of immense public interest. Parallel Facts ensured that the voices of citizens and supporters of Peter Obi were heard by creating an inclusive space for dialogue and robust interaction between Peter Obi and his supporters.
According to Noobspace, “The world record for the most significant Twitter space was previously held by Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, and before him, K-POP, the Korean music band, held the top spot.
“What could be a better way to share your thoughts than through Twitter Spaces, especially after its acquisition by Elon Musk? It is imperative to note that Twitter policies are now increasingly undergoing rapid changes after Elon’s takeover, and there is a need for further clarity on new features like Twitter Blue as well as the future of advertising on the platform.
