Okowa Charges Deltans to dedicate their lives to the Service of God
Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has charged Christians to dedicate their lives to the service of God for the benefit of the people.
Speaking at a Thanksgiving Service organised by the member representing Warri North in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Michael Diden (Ejele) at Christ Foundation Ministry International Sapele for the electoral victories of Governor Okowa and himself, Governor Okowa pleaded with Deltans to dedicate their lives to the service of God, asserting that “the best way to appreciate God is to give your life to the service of God and care about the concern of the people around you”
“God will arise through us to reach those around us, God cannot come down from heaven to help the less privileged among us, he can only use us so we need to dispose ourselves to God,”‘ he added.
He commended Hon. Micheal Diden and his family for publicly apologizing to God for the delay in organising the thanksgiving stating that ” l thank God that Ejile publicly apologized to God for the delay in this thanksgiving because he waited this long to do the thanksgiving, this is the 10th month of this administration, it is good that we do not waste time in thanking God when we receive benefits from him, it is not all about the money, it is about the sincerity of heart. l believe that God has accepted this thanksgiving.”
Earlier, the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, in his sermon Titled “Abounding in thanksgiving” explained that man was bound to give thanks to God frequently and constantly explaining that our prayers would be meaningless without thanksgiving.
He observed that thanksgiving means expressing appreciation to God and it can be expressed through praise, dancing and charity stressing that the reasons why we thank God included forgiveness of sins, protection and preservation and for God’s loving kindness and mercy.
Highpoint of the service was the dedication of Hon. Diden’s granddaughter to God by pastor Oritsejafor and thanksgiving offering by his family.
