Ojukwu’s son fulfills family’s dream in top US university; mother gushes
Young Afamefuna Odumegwu Ojukwu, son of the late Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, has fulfilled a long-standing family dream as he graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration at the University of North Texas(UNT) and donning a blue suit, his mum’s dream when he was just 3 years old.
The MBA was coming after concurrent degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Energy Engineering. His mother, Lady Bianca Ojukwu gushed on her social media handle as she shared her joy on the fulfilment of a lofty dream by his son.
She wrote on her Facebook page thusly:
My Son Afamefuna Odumegwu Ojukwu has made me proud once again.
When he was in primary 3, I pasted a cut out picture from a magazine on my ledge. It was of a clean cut young man in a blue suit that was just starting out in life after his university studies.
I told my son that this was how I wished he would be. Sensing some pressure, his father , Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu would always laugh and tell me that ‘the robe does not make the monk’, .
even if he ended up as a mechanic, the important thing was that he infused dignity into his labour or endeavors.
‘Nnewi DNA is the Code’, he would playfully proclaim, reminding me that Afam Louis Philippe Ojukwu was named after his own father, the great Sir Louis Philippe Ojukwu, who despite not having a university degree, became Nigeria’s first Billionaire and sat as chairman of over 15 conglomerates in his relatively brief lifetime.
After concurrent degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Energy Engineering, Afam has just completed his MBA ( Masters in Business Administration)at the University of North Texas(UNT). I am fulfilled that he kept my dream.
Despite his aversion to suits, he wore that blue suit for me on this graduation day to evoke those memories of the picture on my ledge, which I had long forgotten. He remembered.
His father, the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu would have been proud that not only did Afam obtain some ‘Mechanic’ training as a Mechanical Engineer, he equally made it as a graduate in 2 other fields.
To God be the Glory. Dear Friends, ‘Mama Engineer’ is asking you once again to please thank God with me !
