LG urges support for immunisation against polio in Kebbi

Alhaji Garba Salihu, Chairman, Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi has called on all residents to support the ongoing immunisation of children against polio.
Salihu made the appeal at the launch of polio immunisation on Friday at Kamba, the headquarters of the local government.
The chairman said success could only be achieved if parents, guardians, community and religious leaders gave all the necessary support and cooperation to the exercise.
He reminded the people that the exercise was aimed at eradicating poliomyelitis among children under the age of five.
A Deputy Director in the council, Alhaji Nasiru Bunza and Adamu Kamba, the council manager for National Programme on Immunisation (NPI), said the council received 7,000 doses of the vaccines for the exercise.
They said the council hoped to immunise 6,650 children during the exercise.
They commended state government and the council for given all the necessary support and cooperation for the take off of the exercise.
