The Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy has announced that the Year 2020 Ministerial Press briefing organised by the State Government, as part of activities to commemorate the first anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s assumption of office, is scheduled to continue on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Olusina Thorpe, noted that the continuation of the briefings on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the JJT Park, Alausa, will feature the Ministries of Education, Housing, Tourism and Office of Sustainable, Development Goals, among others, rendering accounts of their stewardship in the past 12 months.
He averred that the briefings, which had commenced on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, had witnessed the Honourable Commissioners/Special Advisers of the Ministries of Health, Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Environment, Transportation, Science and Technology, Commerce and Cooperatives, Agriculture, Physical Planning, Works and Infrastructure, among others, highlighting their achievements during the administration’s first year.
According to him, some of the major accomplishments of Governor Sanwo-Olu in the past 365 days included the comprehensive assessment of no fewer than 329 Primary Healthcare Centres for better service delivery and commissioning of 23 new ones in the State; construction of nine concrete jetties with shelter and shoreline across the metropolis and the improvement of drainage networks in the State to facilitate the free flow of water through proper channels.
Others achievements include the institution of reforms to boost Physical Planning Services; introduction of various agricultural projects that will ensure and sustain the food security situation the State; construction of several road networks and rehabilitation of others; the establishment of a reliable inter-modal transportation system and launching of the LASG Campus Network among others.
“The next presentations will further enlighten Lagosians about the laudable achievements of Governor Sanwo-Olu in fulfilment of his promises to residents when he assumed office on May 29, 2019”, Thorpe said.
