….Re-Seals Illegal Filling Station in Ajao Estate

Three persons have been arrested at 5, Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate. Ikoyi by the Enforcement Team of Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) and members of Lagos State Task Force for violating the State’s Physical Planning Permit Law.

According to the General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, the three violators, namely Samuel Adeleke (31) Oyewole Israel (21) and one Alhaji Morufu Alade (53), will be prosecuted for breaking government seals unlawfully and by-passing the restriction placed on the property by the Authority to continue construction works without authorisation.

Osinaike recalled that the property was served notices and sealed by LASPPPA officials after which the owner of the said property went on to by-pass the seal and instructed his workers to go back to the site without due recourse to the District Office of LASPPPA at Ikoyi to start the process of obtaining a permit before continuing construction.

He said the arrest will serve as a deterrent to others who are in the habit of violating Physical Planning Permit Laws of Lagos State by removing seals without authorisation.

While urging those in the act of removing seals unlawfully to desist from such, the General Manager said “The State Government will no longer condone any disregard to Town Planning Laws as this usually results in losses in the long run”.

In a related development, LASPPPA has re-sealed an illegal Petrol Filling Station at 1, Robinson Gbagi Street, Ajao Estate during a joint enforcement exercise with officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA).

It was discovered that the owner of the Filling Station continued construction despite the stop-work order and sealing of the site on March 18, 2022, due to non-conformity with Physical Planning Regulations.

The Filling Station which has now reached the completion level has been partially toked and re-sealed by the State Government and will remain sealed until the owner meets all necessary provisions of the law.
