Ladipo Market Traders in Lagos gift Muslim Beggars Christmas presents
December 25, 2021
Traders at the popular Ladipo Market in Lagos took to their immediate environ to cater to the needs of the infirm, beggars and the hungry as part of their Christmas party, a yearly celebration to mark the Christmas and end of year by the traders.
Ladipo market famed as the busiest auto spare parts market in Lagos has made it a tradition to roll out the drums to celebrate the Yuletide.
This year, amid cries of low turnover and poor patronage, the traders showed good public spiritedness by giving out cash and other gifts to the under-privileged in their environ.
Beneficiaries of their benevolence were mostly Muslims from the north; some infirm while some were outright beggars without any noticeable physical deformity.
One of the traders who identified himself as Ebuka (aka Japan) told Political Economist that the gesture was in line with the teaching of the Lord Jesus to love “your neighbour as yourself.”
