Just in: Tragedy averted as Dana airplane crash lands in Lagos
The nation was spared another air travel tragedy as a Dana airplane from Abuja crash-landed at the Lagos airport Tuesday morning.
No details have been given by the airline but witnesses said the plane skid off the runway upon landing on a wet tarmac. There was dawn rainfall in the Lagos area Tuesday and this may have contributed to the wetness of the runway.

Recall that in 2012, a major national tragedy was recorded when a Dana airplane crashed in Lagos killing about 159 persons.
A certain Onyeka Anyene died along with his entire family. His wife, 3 children, his mother in-law and niece all died along with him. They hailed from Anambra and were visiting home from USA.
Mechanical failure and pilot error were said to have caused the crash.
