ISOLO GENERAL HOSPITAL TO SET UP DIALYSIS CENTRE
Aug. 10, 2021
The Medical Director/CEO, Isolo General Hospital, Dr. Godwin Akhabhoa, has disclosed plans by the facility to set up a dialysis centre as part of its ongoing infrastructural development to enhance service delivery.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ forum held recently, the Medical Director explained that the plan is part of a strategic move to make the hospital a one-stop-shop, adding that when operational, dialysis patients would no longer be referred to other health facilities for treatment.
He stated further that infrastructure development would continue in the hospital with the expansion and renovation of the male ward to accommodate more patients.
While commending Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the ongoing rehabilitation and expansion of the structures in the facility, Dr. Akhabhoa said that most of transactions and processes in the hospital would soon be automated to reduce paperwork and improve services.
The Medical Director also appealed to the staff to continue improving their attitude to patients, stressing that no excuse would be accepted for anyone not attending to clients in a customer-friendly way in line with the policy of the hospital.
“Our mission is patient-oriented. We must show empathy to our patients. If you don’t show empathy, you can’t receive it from anyone. Let us be wary of retributive justice and change the narrative of General Hospitals”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, Dr. Atinuke Onayiga, has commended the Medical Director, Dr. Godwin Akhabhoa for his leadership and developmental efforts at the Isolo General Hospital.
Dr. Onayiga commended the Medical Director during a recent working visit to the facility to assess progress of the ongoing upgrade as well as renovation and refurbishment of infrastructure embarked upon by the government.
