IS Gets New Leader For ISWAP
The Islamic State has sacked Abu Mus’ab Albarnawi as the leader of its West African affiliate (ISWAP).
According to Ahmad Salkida, a Nigerian Conflict Reporter, Investigative Journalist and Press freedom advocate the new Wali, as announced in audio recording by the group is Abu Abdullah Ibn Umar Albarnawi. No reason was given for the sack of Abu Musab (Habib), Salkida twitted.
His tweet reads: “Multiple sources insist that Abu Musab is alive and well, and still with #ISWAP despite his abrupt demotion by IS central. Notwithstanding, the coming weeks will reveal whatever is hidden as this is happening so quickly even within the group”.
“Abu Abdullah Idrisa bin Umar Albarnawi, the new Wali of #ISWAP appointed by #albaghdadi is receiving pledges from cells across West/Central Africa, said sources. The coming weeks will define the leadership of Ibn Umar Albarnawi, who is a first generation Jihadi, from the group’s early days”.
The evidence is available, it is just a matter of time for the audios and letters to be transcribed and published. Amaq or Alnaba may likely announce as this is still a developing story”.
