Ighalo trademark Scoop excites Manchester United fans
Manchester United fans have shared their excitement at seeing Odion Ighalo replicating his trademark ‘scoop’ trick ahead of his arrival at Old Trafford.
The Nigeria striker, 30, sealed a dramatic deadline day loan move to United from Shanghai Shenhua as boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s search for a striker went down to the wire.
Ighalo plied his trade at Watford for three seasons, scoring 40 goals in 100 games for the Hornets before making a mega money move to the Far East in 2017.
While the move has certainly come from left field, United fans have shared their excitement at seeing Ighalo lead the line for Solskjaer’s side.
The 30-year-old has his own skill move he has used to deceive defenders throughout his career. The move – called ‘the scoop’ – involves Ighalo sweeping the ball in the opposite direction to bamboozle defenders.
After seeing the move, United fans took to Twitter to fawn over the piece of skill. @1Zakky said: ‘Spending the rest of my day studying Ighalo scoop turns brb’.
@Martiallah9 said: ‘When Ighalo outscores (Arsenal player) Pepe on his debut and scoops your favourite CB #IghaloFC’, while @StooMarks said: ‘So jealous of the United fans that are going to be enjoying the Ighalo scoop’.
Ighalo is believed to be jetting into Manchester from China this weekend and won’t play a part in the game against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
United host Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in a crucial battle for fourth place as the Premier League season hots up.
Solskjaer revealed in his press conference Friday that new £68million signing Bruno Fernandes is available to play in the Old Trafford clash after sealing his switch from Sporting Lisbon.
