How to make it as an entrepreneur, Ekeh, Obi share success tips at Yudala Enugu summit
Attendees of a mega entrepreneurship summit organized by pioneer composite e-commerce outfit Yudala were treated to a feast of incisive and thought-provoking interventions as Chairman, Zinox Group, Leo Stan Ekeh and former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, delivered unforgettable lessons in the art of street entrepreneurship on Friday November 4th at the expansive Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu.
The event, organized in partnership with the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) had in attendance the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Cecilia Ezeilo, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Rita Mbah and former Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo as Chairman on the occasion, among several other dignitaries.
In his keynote address, Ekeh who spoke extempore drew a resounding applause from the audience in the packed pavilion with a speech that drew extensively from his personal experiences and journey to success in the business terrain. According to Ekeh, discipline, integrity, focus, a commitment to take pains before pleasure and a close relationship with God remain indispensable ingredients to creating and sustaining wealth in contemporary society.
In his view, huge potential exists for Nigeria to raise a sizeable number of certified billionaires from the current generation of youth in view of their exposure, digital mind-set and desire to upgrade in life. He, however, lamented the crisis of values, clearly discernible among significant number of South Easterners as well the failure of many others who choose to rely on hand-outs or government support rather than take the initiative to generate sustainable wealth.
For Dr. Obi, who equally spoke extempore, the challenge many prospective entrepreneurs face today include, among others, lack of financial prudence, discipline, dishonesty and the absence of a sound ethical foundation which invariably leads to unsavoury practices which ultimately erode one’s credibility. Drawing from the examples of notable and successful entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates, Linda Ikeji and others, Dr. Obi advised the audience to embrace self-discovery and continuous personal development as a means of breaking through to business success.
While heaping praises on Yudala which he described as a credible platform which many youths can leverage on, Dr. Obi disclosed that partnerships with such an ambitious and world-class organization can open the door to new wealth for many.
More encomiums went the way of Yudala from the Governor of Enugu State and Prof. Nebo, both of whom expressed their delight with the landmark impacts and huge investments being made by Yudala in its mission of empowering millions of Nigerian youths through its YUBOSS Scheme, which has recently received a N1.5B support from the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation.
The well-attended event also witnessed the official presentation of YUBOSS, an entrepreneurship and wealth creation scheme set up by Yudala in partnership with Airtel and Access Bank by Founder/Vice President, Prince Nnamdi Ekeh who cited examples of success stories from individuals who had signed up to the YUBOSS platform and already earning mouth-watering commissions as partners of Yudala.
The weekend of activities by Yudala continues until Sunday, as the venue of the entrepreneurship summit – Michael Okpara Square – is set to host the Yudala Coalfest Zero Gravity Mega Music Concerts featuring a host of leading artistes, with a Contemporary Music Concert headlined by Flavour, Zoro, Nigga Raw, Naeto C, Humble Smith and others on Saturday November 5th. This will be followed on Sunday November 6th by what is being touted as the biggest Rock Gospel Concert ever witnessed in the South East featuring Frank Edwards, Sammie Okposo, Buchi, Chioma Jesus, Joe Praise, Steve Crown, Chinyere Udoma, Nkay and Gozie Okeke of Akanchawa fame, among others.
