House on the Rock fire: I’m grateful to God – Pastor Adefarasin
Mr. Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, has broken his silence on the fire incident that occurred in the Abuja parish of the church in the afternoon on Sunday. The fire which raged amidst a downpour was later contained by fire service men.
In a series of messages on his Twitter handle on Monday, the flamboyant pastor thanked God that there were no loss of lives. He also expressed gratitude that the incident occurred in the afternoon after worshippers who came for the mid-year Thanksgiving Service had departed the premises.
“Some parts of the complex were damaged by the fire”,he said. He commended the “swift co-ordinated response” of “NEMA, the Federal Fire Service (Abuja), NJI, NNPC, Julius Berger, the HOTR staff & members, and several friends & well-wishers of the house”.
He said the church was committed to determining the root cause of the unfortunate incident. But he was quick to add that the fire outbreak won’t affect the church’s programme as the mid-week service would continue as usual.
“We are now working with the relevant authorities & consultants to ensure the structural integrity of the affected building,” he tweeted.
