House of Reps aspirant calls for united PDP in Imo
December 12
Onuorah Olumba, an aspirant to the House of Representatives for Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal constituency in Imo, on Tuesday called for a united Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Olumba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that it was only with unity that the party would guarantee the dethronement of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said that it was time for the party members to close ranks and work as a team for the enthronement of a PDP governor by 2019.
“It is only with oneness that we can oust the APC governor in the state.
“We must work together with Charles Ezekwem leadership of the party by forgetting our differences,’’ Olumba said.
The PDP member said that the emergence of Uche Secondus as the party’s National Chairman was highly commendable.
He expressed confidence in the capability of Secondus to reposition the party for greater success.
According to him, Secondus is grounded and experienced in PDP politics which is an advantage to the party.
Olumba noted that the party’s convention was credible and called on all to support the national chairman for stronger opposition.
The PDP had on Dec. 9, elected Uche Secondus as the national chairman with about 2,000 votes over others.
