Gunmen attack church during vigil, shoot pastor, abduct 6 worshippers
The gunmen stormed Elyon Paradise Ministry Church, Azagba Ogwashi, near Asaba during a vigil, rounded up six members of the congregation and whisked them away to an unknown destination.

Gunmen have reportedly invaded a church in Azagba Ogwashi, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State, during a vigil over the weekend, shot the pastor and abducted six worshippers.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed Elyon Paradise Ministry Church, Azagba Ogwashi, near Asaba during a vigil, rounded up six members of the congregation and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
The pastor, identified as Apostle Divine Omodia, was not only shot at, he also had two fingers chopped off by the vicious gunmen.
The injured pastor is said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, adding that it was reported on Saturday evening. He assured that a rescue operation has been triggered by the police.
Several towns in the Anioma area of Delta have been under attack by kidnappers in recent months. Towns mostly affected are Ubulu-Uku, Issele Uku, Ogwashi-Uku and others.
