Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was all smiles on Monday as he briefed returning President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential office. Details of the briefing were not made public as at press time but Mr President was said to have profusely thanked Osinbajo for holding forth while he was away for 103 days on medical vacation.

The President who had told some APC stalwarts that he was happy with the manner Osinbajo handled the affairs of state especially matters on national unity, security and economy seized the opportunity of the briefing to thank Professor Osinbajo.

Our Presidency source said it was a very friendly meeting in which both men were relaxed and shared banters. “There is a very strong bonding  and understanding between the President and the Vice President and you can feel it and see it in the manner the vice president yielded power back to the President. It started right from the airport on Saturday. As soon as the President alighted from the Presidential jet (Airforce 1), they started addressing him as President while the Acting President was addressed as vice president. It goes to show that our democracy is shaping up in spite of the challenges”, the source said.
