Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has urged industrialists to take advantage of the peaceful and conducive business climate in the state to invest their businesses.
Okowa gave the advice on Thursday when Mr Babatunde Savage, the Chairman, Guinness Nigeria Plc, led his management team to pay him a courtesy visit at the Government House Annex, Warri.
The governor also advised entrepreneurs to utilise abundant human and raw materials available in the state to improve their businesses.
He said that his administration was doing everything possible to reduce unemployment particularly among the youth in the state.
“Delta is a peaceful state, any investor wishing to invest in Delta will have skill and unskilled labourers to work with and we are sure they will have returns on their investment.
“As a government, we are trying to scale up the employment of our youths in the state and any meaningful venture that can take out our youths from the streets will be welcomed.
“We have embarked on different programmes to equip our youths to be self reliant,” he said.
While commending Guinness for introducing a new brand of beer into the market, Okowa urged the company to meet its corporate social responsibilities by engaging the youth.
Earlier, Savage said the visit was to inform the governor of the company’s introduction of a new brand of beer into the market.
