Governor Bello commends delegates for peaceful conduct of LG congress

Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger has commended delegates for peaceful conduct of the Local Government congresses of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
He gave the commendation while monitoring the APC local government congress at Habibu Shuaibu Sport Complex in Chanchage Local Government Area on Saturday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that APC holds a nationwide elective local government congress to elect new APC local government Chairmen and other executives at the council’s level.
Bello commended the delegates for a peaceful congress that saw the emergence of local governments party leaders through consensus and affirmation.
“This congress is to provide a structure and reposition our executives to run the party and to fulfil the mandate of the constitution through affirmation and consensus.
“The congress went well the chairman committee has being with us and he asked the delegates some questions just to confirmed through consensus, so we had a very peaceful congress.
“Though I am still waiting for results from other local governments, but I was made to understand that so far so good, things are going on well,” he said.
Also, Alhaji Umaru Bago, a House of Representative member, representing Chanchaga Federal constituency of Niger, described the support of the party members at wards and local government levels as ‘unprecedented.’
He noted that the resolution of the stakeholders and the governor to use affirmation and consensus has yielded result and led to a smooth and transparent congress.
Bago added that the congresses would help the party to restrategies and go back to the drawing board and execute people oriented projects that would touch their lives.
He advised the new party executives to be more awake to their responsibilities.
