God caused my kidnappers to sleep and I escaped – Redeemed pastor
Abducted pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Chidinma Ibenegbu, has narrated how God helped her to escape from the captivity of kidnappers. According to her, God put the kidnappers to sleep and she escaped.
She was the first to escape to freedom among the five kidnapped persons in Ogun State.
Ibenegbu said the abductors, whom she described as herdsmen, ambushed their vehicle on the expressway at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. She described them as Fulani from the language they spoke. She was on her way to the ministers conference of the church at their camp.
Narrating her experience at the church’s conference ground on Saturday, she said while travelling to the RCCG Camp at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for the Ministers’ Conference, their commercial bus ran into the men, who took them into the forest.
“I prayed to God to make them fall asleep, and they fell asleep and continued to sleep, until I began to make my way out of the bush. I was asking God for direction to the road,” she said.
There was ecstasy at the conference venue as she narrated her ordeal and the power of deliverance in God. She said she eventually came to a road and was fortunate to see a motorcyclist who took her to a police checkpoint. She told the police her story whereupon they took her to their station.
In her words the state commissioner of police interviewed her, stressing that it was her information that helped the police to rescue the other four captives.
